Seeing how it was 2am yesterday when I was uploading and organizing this, which sounded like a great idea at 12:30am when I got off work, I realize I should probably give an explanation as to why I'm doing this in coherent English. Also, having worked 10 hours before probably explains why I looked so exhausted last night in the photo. :)
I've been inspired to do a photo project for a couple reasons. I've been thinking for a couple years now that I never take photos of the simple everyday things in life that I enjoy. Like, sitting and relaxing after work, or hanging out with friends. I have a sweet camera that I got as a gift from work a couple winters ago, and I want to start using it more. I have photoshop, but hardly use it. I have a couple friends (Bizz, and Zory mostly) who have done 365 self-portrait or photo projects, and seeing their photography (and themselves!) grow and change in a year is an interesting concept that I would like to emulate. I would like to capture this next year and share it with people. I didn't want to be tied down with only doing self-portraits, although I think there will be a fair amount of those, so I've been thinking about doing themed weeks once in a while to make things more challenging.
Currently I think everyone reading this knows me, but for those who don't...
I'm Meg. I'm 23, a student studying geology at the University of Victoria (well, starting in September), and I work at a cafe while taking classes and over the summer. I live with my boyfriend (Wes), who is a musician/song-writer. I like baking, eating food, collecting rocks, biking, reading, learning, playing computer games, and watching selected tv shows. I'm working my way through Dexter right now; it's such an awesome show.
Well, that's my intro to this project. Enjoy, come back and look at how things turn out!
-Meg
